What We Do

Care in Action works to prevent child abuse and neglect, and help families that it has affected. Here’s how:

  • Education: We talk to church and community groups about how to identify and address possible child abuse and neglect. We give formal presentations, and we can set up a booth at expos, festivals and other events. Interested in having us come to your event or group? Please contact us.
  • Empowering the Community: Often community members who care about the problem of child abuse and neglect aren’t sure what to do about it. It’s difficult to know which children and families are in need. That’s why we connect concerned community members with social workers who can pass on the individualized needs of families and kids they’re working with while protecting their privacy. Groups and individuals can learn of these needs, and also help fulfill them through Care in Action, either by becoming an email partner (individuals) or adopting a social worker (groups).
  • Engaging with Existing Organizations: We work with Tix for Tots┬áto get free tickets to sports games, plays and other events for families at risk, or who’ve been affected by maltreatment. These events can help relieve kids’ stress and serve as a wonderful bonding opportunity for families.
